Vintage Water Ski Repair

There’s a Facebook group for every interest. It’s true. One I’ve taken a shine to lately is vintage waterski groups. There’s a market for those old skis in your dad’s garage, even if they are damaged, moldy or disintegrating. Recently I’ve been teaching myself how to use epoxy including tinting it with sawdust and thickening it with filler. The cost of good marine epoxy isn’t cheap. I took this rotted slalom ski that my wife nicknamed “shark bite” and made mahogany plywood out of an old bedside table. I used my router, chisels, epoxy and glue to get it looking like the pictures in this post.
