1965 Mercury 50hp. The old guy I bought it from said it was sunk in 1969, “professionally dried out” and hasn’t been started since 1969. This is the base of a motor I’ll build which I’ll call the magic motor. As I removed the powerhead from the mid section I found dried mud under the cover where you access the bolts. This must have been sunk for a while or at least long enough to let the mud seep in.
